Serena my lively, dominant skinny pig had to be put to sleep today. She had been fighting an illness, chest infection.and weight loss.Today she blew up like a balloon. It was obvious she had a serious illness. The vet and i decided she needed to be kindly end her suffering.
she was 3 years next week.she had the loudest wheek.Zane and Zara have taken her leave.Zane had been sat next to her fo 3 weeks. Goodbye my sweet girl.

I am so sorry @eileen Poor Serena, she sounds like she was very poorly, she will have known just how much you loved her x

Sleep tight little lady 🌈

Sorry for your loss. You did everything you could for Serena and she knew how much she was loved. Sleep tight Serena x

So sorry that you have lost Serena, Eileen.
You gave her a wonderful life and she will leave a huge hole in your heart.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve

BIG HUGS

I am ever so sorry. Bloat in a frail piggy can happen with devastating speed and force. :(

But she had a great life getting so far thanks to your good care. Sadly, you can get your oldies only so far (which you have certainly done), and then it is a matter of what gives first which is always outside your control.

RIP Serena

So very sorry Eileen. Sending you big hugs. You really did all you could for Serena and she had a great life with you.

Sleep tight lovely girl. 💕🌈🐾

Poor Serena blew up around her neck and chest.Vet seems to think she had heart failure, that's why she was not eating.😪
She was only just 3 years old.but she was a rescue skinny pig,I don't think she was born to the best home.
Thank you all for your kind words.she was a special piggie with a lovely personality, which is going to take some time to digest.
Samantha her sister is still here.

So sorry to read this Eileen. You tried so hard for her and she would have known that but it is so upsetting to have to make the decision to let her go to the bridge even though deep down we know its to help them. Sending hugs at this sad time. Thinking of you
Rest in peace now brave piggy 🌈

Very sadly skinny pigs are prone to a lot of genetic problems caused by in-breeding. They have a very small gene pool and this causes lots of issues with their offspring. As you know i have 4 rescue skinny skinnies and i do worry about what inherited problems they may have. All we can do is give them the best life for however long we are privileged to have them as part of our family.xx
