Serving veggies

I'm not sure if I'm the only one that feels this way, but I cant stand it when my piggies pull their veggies out of the food bowl and drag them all over the floor while eating them. Its all stuck with shavings and fur and I'm sure the piggies eat those along with the veggies. How do you guys serve veggies, put them in a huge bowl or chop everything to bite size pieces for pigs? ?
 
I've given up with putting fruit and veggies in the dish - they all just end up all over the floor anyway so now that's where I put them in the first place - cut out the middle man!
 
I think it is so funny watching then pull the stuff out of their bowl, especially when their fave thing is at the bottom. I change it around, sometimes chopped up in a bowl and sometimes left whole on their bedding, it makes a change for them. I also hide their herb treats so they have a bit of hunting to do ::)
 
mine have two veg bowls (thinking i now need a 3rd) but it dont stay there for long. but i also hide their favourites around the cage :)
 
so its ok if they eat food that has shavings stuck on it? O always worry about that, lol
 
If i chop the veggies small I put them in Bowls but I sometimes give them the veggies whole straight into the hutch as its more natural and it gives thouse teeth some extra work
 
I used to really bug me when i used woodshavings because the girls would always drag everything around the foor before they ate it. Now they are on vet bed they dont do it! I think they just like to see us fret sometimes! Now they do like to tread tomato pips into the vet bed! :)

Everyone of my piggies has his own veggie bowl and they all eat nicely out of them! Well I say that; Shaunie one of my new boys sits right in the middle of the bowl and Denzel eats round him!

Mine all have half a cob of corn each before I go to work as well to nibble on throughout the day!

I chop all mine up, put it in a bit bucket then load it into the cages. Some of my boars drag it round to the other side of the cage.
I have a group of 7 sows and as soon as I put the food into the cage they grab it then run away to eat on their own. They eat it soooo fast, then run back to get more before another pig takes it ;D
 
My 3 girls all eat from the same huge dish odd times they grab a bit and run off with it but mostly they sit round munching until its all gone. The 2 boys do the same that are together. Murphy is a bit of a grabber he normally takes his food back to his cosey. Quite lucky with mine for not spreading food all over. :smitten:
 
my sows that live together outside grab a piece of what they want the run off with their heads held high so nobody can pinch it! lol
 
I used to put the veg into bowls but one of the sows used to sit in the bowl so no one else could eat the food ::)
 
I just put mine in a pile on the floor...they don't last long and are eaten up in no time :D
 
I put mean all round their cage. I have gave up on putting their food in a bowl.
