Right, the pig babies are coming home this afternoon & I think I'm good to go. I just have a question ref fleece. I've washed it 3 times, how do I kno if it's working properly? Cos I dripped s bit of water on it to test & it didn't pool or anything but it was damp. Does it stay damp for a bit or should I see no damp patch at all?

Also what litter trays do * guys use? I can't find one I like. They may just ignore it but I'll give it a go...

In a few hours I'll be a pig mummy!

There has to be something underneath the fleece to absorb the liquid. (Like towels). Then the water will wick through the fleece and the top will stay dry. :)

Ooh yay, new piggies!

Umm, r.e the fleece, you possibly need to put it over something i.e a towel or newspaper that will soak up the water. But even though I use fleece, I don't know how to answer your question :)) And I just use normal cat litter trays from Wilkinson's. You can also use those corner litter trays, etc. Just decide which you like best :) My pigs will use the litter trays, but they do also wee on the fleece. You just have to wash it regularly if they do.

Hi,

Ref the fleece, when you put the towels underneath, they will draw the moisture from the top of the fleece into the towel so the fleece shold stay quite dry:))

My sows use the litter tray and have from day one as they were used to going on woodshavings.

I bought a corner one:))

My two love being on fleece when they are out in their run. They are very good and do most messing in their tray. I just got a small litter tray from wilkos, it was about £2 and the sides arent too high for them to get in to. they have the same tray when they are in their house and use it very well. It means i only have to change fleece once per week but empty the tray daily. my tray has paper and hay in it. I use incontinence pads under the fleece. They work really well and also only need washing weekly or so. hope this helps!

Oh sorry yeah I have 2 towels to go under fleece... I'll get them a tray from wilco today then cool... Thank *!

All your fleece looks flat & mine is really bumpy! Is that ok!? I have 2 towels down & it is wrapped around it...

Depends what your cage is like?

I lay the fleece over the towels in a single layer and drap it down the side of the cage base and secure with the cage lid pinning the fleece inbetween this makes it smooth:))

Another thing to consider putting underneath your fleece is puppy training pads. They hold all the moisture and I found I didn't have to clean out (or wash towels) as often :)

Good luck getting your little ones settled x

Hmm I guess it's bumpy cos I have towels under there. I'll see how I get on for a couple of days... Do * put pup pads on top of the towels?

Yep, I had towels, then puppy pads then fleece.

You'll find they'll probably favour one corner for their toilet, so even if you just put in the corners, it should hopefully help ;)

Well they've moved in! But are hiding at the moment so I will introduce them properly once I have pix ;)
