I have never experienced such a palava!
I got Seti my 11 month boar to have a bath today and he hated it. I ran a little luke warm water in the bath and sat him in, he instantly tried to scale the sides of the tub to get out. I gently encouraged him back down and gently bathed him by wetting him with water.
I used some washing liquid on his grease gland which worked great (thanks for the tip) and baby shampoo for his body (avoiding his head). He shook 3 times in a row, the way a dog shakes when they are wet, sending soap and water all over me. After a testing time rinsing, he came out and was wrapped up in a towel.
He was rubbed dry and then had a going over with the hair dryer, which he also hated! He seemed to be really shaking, either cold or fear, I'm going with fear as the hair dryer was warm!
Anyway I then did some grooming with his hair brush and offered him treats for being a 'good boy' but he refused them. I put him back in his cage with the treats on his ledge, but he has gone in to his house in a sulk. He hasn't emerged in 2 hours.
I am hoping to win him around with broccoli later, but I think I have definitely upset him, even though I was so gentle and careful.
Obviously there are no pics as I didn't really get a chance to take any, I was instead trying to prevent 'The Great Escape!'
