Severe hay poke?

Hi everyone,

Is this severe hay poke? I have come home from work and one of my girls’ eye looks like this. Thankfully we have managed to get an emergency appointment tonight

Only a vet can tell you that it is haypoke. When Chrisitian had haypoke a while back he refused to open his eye. You are right to get a vet appointment as soon as you can as you need to be careful with eyes. Good luck I hope you get on well at the vet.

It could be hay poke but not necessarily severe. You are doing the right thing with the emergency appointment. They will check the eye for ulcers, remove any hay still in the eye and give you medication to start straight away

Thankfully wasn’t as bad as it looked. Had a piece of hay stuck in her eye and the eye is a little cloudy. Gave us antibiotics to use twice a day for four days and hopefully all will be well

Just woke up this morning and giving the girls their breakfast. Her is is completely shut now, but looks better than yesterday as I’m looked like her eye lid was dropping. She’s eating fine and seems herself
