Mrs Tiggy Winkle
Adult Guinea Pig
Sorry I didn't know that! But you do so that's the main thing.Try my best to not syringe feed because it is highly likely to cause an IC flare.

May not for all IC pigs. Nancy reacts to changes in diet so I don't dare if I can at all avoid.Sorry I didn't know that! But you do so that's the main thing.
Thank youI am so sorry. HUGS
Nancy has a wound infection. I have done all I can. Have her on fleece cleaning it twice a day but still not enough. Gutted. Concerned as I've seen this before and it wasn't good
Yes. Ive just come back. She's on baytrilHUGS
I am so very sorry. Have you contacted your vet?
Yes. Ive just come back. She's on baytril
Thank you. I really hope it works. I had got excited about having some time with her with her being more wellI’m so sorry Nancy has a womb infectionFingers very firmly crossed that the baytril works x
It sounds like you’ve caught it quick and started treatments right away xThank you. I really hope it works. I had got excited about having some time with her with her being more well
She's on her usual meds which didn't cause small poos pre-surgery. She is on baytril now but she only started that on Tuesday and they were small before so it seems oddIs Nancy still on medication? If so, that could be a contributing factor to the small poos especially if her weight is stable but it’s great news that she’s stopped squeaking x
Update on Nancy.. had to have her stitches removed. And just one put back in to allow it to drain. And I am wound flushing. Poos are still small which is odd as her weight is staying the same. No pain squeaking at all though which is very good
Thank you. If its that, that would be good as they should go back to normal in time. It's a bit of a guessing area - but if the general area is still a bit swollen, then that could account for the smaller poos. Please also remember that the poos are running 1-2 days behind events.
Thank you. Do you know the usual dosage for that? Seen non piggy vet before and was given not enough of a antibiotic. My vet isn't back in for another 9 days.I find azithromycin works well for infected wounds.
It’s so frustrating. Simon and Kim are away for nearly three weeks in August and I’m already panicking xOkay. Thank you. Sighs. Wish I had asked my vet for a back up option before she went off.. but it had looked like less puss when I saw the vet on Thursday so didn't ask as I thought it was working. The complication of lack of piggie vets
Ouch three weeks. It is horrible isnt it. Last time Nancy saw a non piggy vet she was given too much buprecare and she could have died. But I can't leave these wound 9 days. I need some help as I think there is puss under that stitch she has in.It’s so frustrating. Simon and Kim are away for nearly three weeks in August and I’m already panicking x
Thank you. It is. Wish all vets were properly trained. Its mad they arentI’m sorry to hear that Nancy likely has an infected woundI can’t add to the advice already given but I hope all goes well at the vets. It’s very stressful when our regular vets are on annual leave / sick
