Severe IC

Nancy is looking really good. No pain squeaking at all. Poos not 100% for some reason but she's not loosing any weight.

Her piggie friend Fonzie though squeaked in pain in the night weeing. I suspect it was him a few nights ago and not Nancy. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. Their diet is absolutely fine. Fonzie is a bit bored at the moment as I've removed the hay cube incase nancy scraps herself on them getting in and out. I'm really fed up, if its not one thing it's something else. Fonzie looks fine and maybe I've just picked up on something that will pass with him being in my bedroom. But I will be going to the vets.

I'm glad Nancy is doing well but I don't understand why these things keep happening and I'm exhausted with it. I am trying my best.

Thank you. I really hope it works. I had got excited about having some time with her with her being more well
 
Update on Nancy.. had to have her stitches removed. And just one put back in to allow it to drain. And I am wound flushing. Poos are still small which is odd as her weight is staying the same. No pain squeaking at all though which is very good

She's on her usual meds which didn't cause small poos pre-surgery. She is on baytril now but she only started that on Tuesday and they were small before so it seems odd

It's a bit of a guessing area - but if the general area is still a bit swollen, then that could account for the smaller poos. Please also remember that the poos are running 1-2 days behind events.

Thank you. If its that, that would be good as they should go back to normal in time.
 
Having to go to the vets. I think there's puss under the stitch she has in. Her wound is pussing and ive managed to get a lot out but not all. And as I have an appt will deal with it then. I've asked my family to come tomorrow to help me clean it. Its really hard holding her with one hand and cleaning it when it hurts. She has been biting into my arm
 
Can you get topical antibiotics that is safe for pigs? I am unsure what to expect at vets. And it isnt a piggy vet.
Baytril must not be working properly as she's been having it since Tuesday. What other antibiotics are good for wound infections? We've had the banana one before and that didn't work for a wound infection
 
Okay. Thank you. Sighs. Wish I had asked my vet for a back up option before she went off.. but it had looked like less puss when I saw the vet on Thursday so didn't ask as I thought it was working. The complication of lack of piggie vets

It’s so frustrating. Simon and Kim are away for nearly three weeks in August and I’m already panicking x

Ouch three weeks. It is horrible isnt it. Last time Nancy saw a non piggy vet she was given too much buprecare and she could have died. But I can't leave these wound 9 days. I need some help as I think there is puss under that stitch she has in.
 
I’m sorry to hear that Nancy likely has an infected wound 😞 I can’t add to the advice already given but I hope all goes well at the vets. It’s very stressful when our regular vets are on annual leave / sick 😞 x

Thank you. It is. Wish all vets were properly trained. Its mad they arent
