Just in case any of you lovely people live in South Norfolk or North Suffolk we've just been put on "High Alert" at work. There's a flood surge forecast for tomorrow (Friday 9th November) morning at 0745 hours and many of the schools are being closed. If you are worried and need more information log on to environment-agency.gov.uk/floodline they're keeping it really well updated. Local radio stations have information too. The Met Office have predicted a flood surge of more than a metre above the sea defences.

Any outside piggies (or other animals) really need to be thought about carefully.

Good luck everybody - hopefully they'll have got it wrong again but better to be forewarned I suppose.

Hmm its raining here in Ipswich but thats south eastish so hopefully there won't be any flooding ::)

The wind has really got up here in Norwich and its been raining quite heavily. Fortunatly all my outside hutches are empty at the moment as my new ones are not coming until next week. Even the ducks are taking shelter in my piggy shed at the moment ;D

Oh pants! :'( Where are you based? We've been told from Hopton to Shingle Street (ner Woodbridge) is on alert but it seems everywhere else is OK.
Hopefully they're just warning of the worst case scenario.

what school do you go to? My 15 year old daughter goes to stoke high school

Peter's family like in West Winch for those that know the geography of Norfolk its just South of Kings Lynn. They should be ok as they are pretty much inland by about 10 miles but depends on the surge I guess.

It's pretty scary, I didn't think it was anything at first but looks like something could happen! Good luck to all, hope the surge passes without any damage!

P.S I love Great Yarmouth, such a fab place!

i'm really worried,

We live really close to the river. About a 5-10 minute walk. I'm terrified. We have sand-bags out.

They have already evacuated 7500 people from Gt yarmouth :o Are your piggies still outside?

Hope you all manage to stay safe and your animals are safely indoors.

Yeah they are.
I just went downstairs and we have a message from the environmental people.
They are on like a big step so not on ground level.
I just started crying and they said dont be so stupid all your worried about is guinea pigs - there could be people dying.
To top it off - tomorrow I'm going to dads and have to leave the pigs all weekend until sunday night. My grandad will be cheacking on them.
I'm in tearss now . #
:'( :'( :'( :'(

We are in Norwich and all our animals-guineas, ducks and quail are safe in sheds over night very windy but not too much rain, my thoughts are with those who are nearer to the coast.

If you are still online and get this message you are welcome to bring the pigs here for now, I am only in Norwich. If you are that close to the river and you get evacuated like everyone else your piggies wont stand a chance :'( I can be contacted on 01603 415429 or 07812849737 any time

i am origionally from 'The Great Yarmouth' - my bro in law is caretaker of a school in Caister, has been asked if part of school can help with possible flood victims.
Aint it bad? And my mum has horses too, they are in a right state - poor things.

I live in scunthorpe with is in north lincs..

I think its just about going to miss me. :-\

got caught up in rain storm today for about 15 mins, couldnt see a thing, not nice to drive in at all. :-\

Keep safe all you lot that travel each day to work etc, and if it looks that s*** outside - dont even bother going out! :(

Years ago i knew someone who had acciedent in car from wind and rain, lets put it this way, he didn't come off too alive afterwards. :'(

Just be safe everyone please! :police:

Amended swear word

dont scare me I'm bad enough at driving as it is, when its raining i go so slow and stay far back from other cars and i think it annoys everybody else on the road :(

who cares maisey? just be safe hun, go as slow as you need to, and leave the others to overtake and put their lives at risk. Just cover your own back hun.

yup will do, the other day when i was driving home i couldnt see anything because there was so much rain and my windscreen wipers were going so fast :(

am getting worried now, my mum lives close to river at potter heigham, and my old auntie and uncle too, they are in their 80's. should i call my mum?
