Shaking Her Head Very Often

Hi there,

We've had Penelope for almost two months now. This week I've started to notice a strange behaviour. Every now and then she'll shake her head or run her paws over her ear/head. The shaking can be what I would consider as quite violent because her whole body jumps when she does it.

Has anybody seen this before? Obviously I want to take her to the vet if there is something wrong, but not if I'm being a hypochondriac lol.

It would be good if you had her checked for ear mites. There is obviously some irritation there.

Yes as Wiebke says possibly ear mites or some other form of ear infection. Vets check will be able to confirm x

Just an update. I spoke with the vet and she advised on a lice and mite spray. So I cleaned out her cages again, sprayed her and her bedding too. I don't know how quickly that stuff works but she seems back to her old self today Thanks for the help guys
