shampooing piggies

I was sitting on the sofa today and was just wondering how often do i have to shampoo my piggie...

can anyone tell me?

Some people do it more often than others. I usually do it if they are looking especially grubby or when i need to do it. For example needing to do it being that my pigs had static lice that they caught from their hay, so i had to wash them a few times in a short space of time.
I mostly do it every couple of months but to be honest mine are pretty good at keeping themselves clean so i personally dont feel the need to do it alot.

Long haired piggies need shampooing more often and sometimes their coats need trimming to avoid getting dirty. I used to bath my short haired piggies twice a year - once at the beginning of spring and once at the end of summer.

I thought I read somewhere that they should get a bath every 6-8 weeks... I generally wash them whenever I think they need it and I have to admit that it's generally about 3 months in between baths. Although I periodically try to keep to 6 weeks...

i tend to bath when they need it, which is only really every 3 months.

i do have a bit of a whiffy boar though who I will do every 6 weeks probably.

Gorgeous Guineas advise every 4-6 weeks. I tend to bathe them every 8-12 weeks, to freshen the hair and coat. I have found that the skin is healthier since bathing routinely, rather than just leaving them until they actually looked dirty. Bathing too often can lead to dry skin.

well you can imaging how Boris smells i am scared lol 8 months with his old owner and not washed once and the 6 weeks in a cast with some infections oh i am not looking forward to that bath>>>
