Hi all, please tell me I'm crazy.

My piggies are in an attic room. We recently added rats to a cage a few feet from the piggies correx homes. A few weeks later one piggie got a respiratory issue and sadly died (3 are fine, well as fine as ever, no new respiratory issues).

It is unlikely the two facts are related right? I know if you leave rats in their own filth for long periods they can get breathing issues, but the rats are cleaned regularly and, most tellingly, the rats are all well, and surely they would get ill MUCH quicker than an animal a distance away and 10 times the size.

The chances of the piggies becoming ill from being in the same room as the rats is negligible right? Set my mind at rest please!

I supose as long your pigs are not able to eat any of there poops

I don't see why it's a problem I had my guineas in the same room as my rats for a while and 2 of my rats do have respiratory issues (nothing to do with filth!) and the guineas were fine! All rats carry mycoplasma some are more susceptible than others, I don't believe mycoplasma are a problem for guineas or humans for that matter!

Thank you, I think I am making connections where none exist.
