So a friend of mine bought some Shaw's Wildberry Egg Biscuits for my piggies when she was shopping. Having never really used shop bought treats I have no idea how safe they are. I assume they are fine but I want to check with the experts ;).

This is a link to them so you can recognise the packet - [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shaws-Wildberry-Biscuit-Small-Animal/dp/B00383YJ1M"]Shaw's Wildberry Egg Biscuit (Small Animal) 35g: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies[/ame]

I'm going to be doing a couple of reviews on the piggies blogs soon of shop bought treats and these might be something to start with. I just don't want the piggies to love them and me recommend them if they are actually bad for them.

Also if you have any treats your piggies like that mine could try then please share them here. I know the best treats are herbs and veggies and trust me, my boys get more than enough of both!. But with Pigmas coming (yes I said the dreaded word!), and Winter killing off all my herb plants (they are all outdoor plants) I would like to spend a little money on my boys!

Thank you in advance.

Seeing as they are EGG biscuits I would not feed these because pigs cannot have eggs or anything dairy. :))

Oh dear. I was aware of dairy products being bad for them but not eggs. Eek. They are labeled as suitable for all manner of small furries INCLUDING guinea pigs. Surely there are laws against labelling them like that if they are bad for pets.

There are so many pet shop treats that are dangerous for piggies :(

Theres a dry veg mix in wilkinsons that includes potatoes !

Do you think they are ok as a one off? Or is there an animal they are safe for? I don't want them to go to waste or offend my friend.

I think birds like cockatiels could have them ? they're allowed egg i do give my boys chocolate drops on rare occasions and they've never caused any harm !

Personally i wouldnt give them even as a one off but i know of a few people who give their pigs yoghurt drops very occasionally and they have been ok! I think they'd be ok for hamster, gerbils etc but just not guinea pigs or rabbits... :) I'm sure your friend wouldn't be offended if you explained why you can't give them to your pigs!

Here in the US they sell yogurt treats for pigs which are not good for them at all. So many treats they sell aren't good for piggies. I've seen a lot of treats with nuts and seeds too.
