She may be blind but she is one of the most inquisitive adventure pigs ever.
It’s been over a month since Megan came to live with us from Walsall RSPCA. Since then she has blossomed and her pigsonality has shone through more and more each day.
Megan is little special needs and has some funny ways - She likes to turn round and round on a spot and sometimes when she’s eating her veg she’ll pause for a few mins staring into space and you need to touch gently her to remind her what she is doing, then she resumes eating with gusto!
Megan loves attention and lap time, she often sits on my lap with her head resting in the crook of my elbow sleeping making little snores. She can stay like this for 40 mins or so then all of a sudden she gets up, does her little turns on the spot then tries to wander off at extreme pace.
Last night during lap time I thought we’d take some photos.
Thought I’d take a photo of us together but Megan had other ideas and decided she wanted to go off travelling before the photo was taken properly, I managed to grab her with my other hand resulting in below photo..
Then it was time for a quick wash before setting off exploring....
I Popped her on the floor where she’ll go exploring - as she’s blind she always travels sniffing with nose to the ground. Megan will start by walking the perimeter of the room and will move at a pace once orientated - she looks so funny striding around with a purpose, her little bottom wiggles as she walks - so cute
Once she has got her bearings she loves exploring everything in the room sniffing it out, sometimes she’ll go past Cookie and Treacle in their run... She displays no interest in them but they are curious about her
Everything is to be checked out, she always likes to know what’s around her,
If you kneel down by where she is she’ll sniff you out and come up to you making little chuntering noises to say hello..
Megan is a very special little lady who we both adore, it is a testament to her nature that she is so trusting of me and rach after everything she must have been through before Walsall rescued her, she’s got so much love to give and is full of character.
