Hiya all. Haven't posted for a while, been so busy at work! 98)

We have just erected a nice big 10 x 8 shed at the back of our garden which is going to be home to my 3 lovely boys in the summer time when it's a bit warmer. Have seen some gorgeous big hutches at P@H so they'll be extra warm and have more space (they're in cages at the moment in the house). But I'm wondering about heating. What does everyone else use? I'll need some sort of heat out there for them when it's really cold, otherwise I'll bring them into the house again I guess ?

Well, i have a 10x6 shed that houses all 28 of my piggies - so i guess thats just heating with all the bodies of them ;D
Not really i have an oilheater for mine on 24hrs day and night O0

I dont use a heater and my piggies live out all year round, i just recently started putting pro-fleece in the bedding part and it keeps them really warm and snug!

I think I'm more worried about it as they're used to living inside. I don't want to shock them with having to deal with the cold I guess. They'll go out in the summer anyhow. I'll miss having them indoors, but am excited about them having shiny new bigger hutches and more toys etc. I'm sure they'll love it ::)

I must say the oil heaters are very expensive to run though :D There are other plug in heaters too like electric ones O0

woaah expensive lol.

I have a electric one that you plug in... :-\ lol

Hmm I guess any type of heating is going to be expensive. I'll be buying them good thick hutches, plenty of newspaper, hay and warm beds to cuddle in. But if it gets really cold, I do want to have something to warm up the shed for them. I guess it's between oil and electric then! O0

TBH as long as they have plenty of bedding hay paper etc there is no need for heating in the shed

Mine live quite happily snuggled up in my own hutches which can be covered if i need to
