Shedding, shedding and more shedding!

My guinea pig walnut (3 years on the 17th) shedds constantly i want to hold her but she is always shedding and that makes me sneeze no guinea pig i've ever seen sheds ass much as her. does anyone have any remedy to stop the shedding.

Shedding is normal for the majority of guinea pigs. Are there any bald patches on her skin, or is it just the top layer of hair that is coming off?

The only way to attempt to 'control' the amount is regular brushing, although this won't completely eliminate all shedding. Regular baths may also help improve/maintain hair and skin condition.

no there is no bald spots but we have had other guinea pigs and none have shed as much as her i'll try the baths and brushing solutions and see how well that works

My cottonbud piggy i swear should be bald the amount of hair she seems to shed on me when i cuddle her - and she is white so it shows up on everything! you are not the only one believe me!

My Rufus is a super-shedder too! He is slightly long haired (not sure of the actual breed) and his hair gets everywhere! I usually give him a brush when he's out for cuddle time, but if truth be told it doesn't seem to make a huge amount of difference, it just controls where he sheds the hair rather than how much he sheds. I always have a piece of fleece on my lap so that most of the hair stays on the fleece and not my clothes, which does help to stop the spread slightly!
As long as your piggie is healthy and there is no medical reason for the shedding then it is probably one of those things you'll have to learn to love

I got a couple of big shedders as well (white hairs! rolleyes).

Brother's b-day on the 17th! Still if he/she is a long haired then possible normal.
