Hi!
I have an American that sheds like crazy every time I take her out for laptime. She never has clumps of fur coming out or bald patches, but my other long-haired pig might shed 10 hairs when I take her out.
I was just wondering if she sheds more because she is shorthaired or if I should be worried.
Thx

Don't worry. I have an American and an Abyssinian, and the American sheds more. He's actually on my lap right now:D
It may just be how their fur grows out in different directions and all, or maybe all guinea pigs shed differently.
As long as his fur looks normal, and as you said doesn't have any patches or anything, I think all is fine and normal.

Some piggies shed a lot more than others. I had a teddy I felt would supply the felted hair for a whole yurt the way she shed especially in spring and autumn; yet her sister never shed much...
