Does anyone know the shelf life or sulfatrim once the bottle has been opened?
I think it’s about 3 weeks.Does anyone know the shelf life or sulfatrim once the bottle has been opened?
That's what I read aswell. But wasn't sure enough to post itThe information sheet says 10 days after opening.
Sulfatrim is an antibiotic, that is used to treat a urinary tract infection.Just wondering, why is Ellen on antibiotics for I. C? Or is this not an antibiotic?

Guinea pigs lose weight incredibly quickly and gain it very slowly! When Freddie was poorly, with an internal abscess, he dropped from 1.1kg to 860g. It has taken many months, but he's now at 1.2kg. The problem with looking at weight in grams, is that it can look like a huge weight drop, whereas it isn't as bad as it sounds. When Buttercup had a UTI around a month ago, she dropped almost 200g. When Simon saw her yesterday, for her dental, she has now regained the weight she lost due to the UTI.She weighed 960g so has lost a lot of weight and she’s still losing![]()

Yes, her appetite decreased. It took about 3 days of antibiotic and Metacam before she started to show a huge improvement xShe just feels so boney it’s scary how fast she’s losingbut your story of Buttercup is encouraging. Did Buttercups appetite decrease? Ellen’s has

What's actually been diagnosed? I have missed something somewhere. Is it a uti, nothing else
I would count today as day one. Last year, when Nigel was poorly, I used a bottle of Sulfatrim that had been opened, a few weeks previously for another piggy. He didn't make any progress whatsoever. Took him to see Simon and he said about prescribing Sulfatrim and I said I already have him on it, but it's not working. That's when he told me it deteriorates rapidly once opened. He prescribed a fresh bottle and Nigel improved very quickly.Thank you. Ellen is on day 3 but day one of the fresh antibiotic that the vet gave me yesterday x
Ok, well best wishes.. Just follow what Debbie sais and I just reccomend feeding plenty of grass, is she eating it up?She’s being treated for either a bad cystitis flare or a uti
