I have just found it while rubbing her chin. I've tried all the vets in the area but are all closed til Monday. Its not massive, but I'm still worried. Any advice anyone? None of my piggies have ever had one before :'(
Awww no its horrible when you find things that shouldnt be there :-\ I'm sure it wont affect her till monday but just keep an eye on her untill you see the vets :-*
How do I know when its ready for lancing? I don't want to take her and have to go back a few days later cos its not ready, its quite a distance from me
Is Sheridon able to eat normally?,if so could you not have a word with the vet by phone.I have known neck abcess to grow as big as a conker and still not be quite ripe.Having said that, very small abcess can sometimes be cleared up with antibiotic, but this does not always work.Tell your vet you have to trav el a long way,and ask if it is wise to wait a few days.
Well its not a cyst, it was an abscess. Vet drained it, flushed it and gave her another anti biotic injection. We've to go back friday evening for a check up and another injection
Good that it's not a cyst, but you must still be very worried about the abscess.
Get better soon Sheridan. :-* :-*
Hope all goes well for Friday.

Peggy has a lump. It's under her chin, and it's squidgy. The vet said he can't find out what it is without removing it and sending it to a lab for testing. He said it wasnt worth doing unless the lump affects her in any way, which it doesnt. I didnt really think about it much, but now I've read this thread I'm worried again. :-\
Went back again last night, got a weeks worth of baytril to see if it will get rid if the last little bit, if not then its back agan for another squeeze
