Yesterday we made the merry journey to Gillingham to pick up Bumble's future wife! I had forgotten how tiny they are when they are little, she is only just six weeks old - the lady I got her from is giving up all her pigs due to work commitments and it was only her and an older boar left who is going to a breeding home (I know we don't like breeding, but there you go) so maybe it was Fate, who knows!

I was very lucky to get a Swiss sow as they are usually kept for breeding as people try and get the breed to grow in numbers over here. I don't really give a hoot about her pedigree, I'm just very glad she came to me!

So let me introduce Pixie!

She's got a bit of a fungal infection round her ears so I can't do my usual 'leave in peace to settle' for three days and instead am having to handle her, hope it doesn't stress her out too much. She was very good at the vets tonight as she got shown around the surgery, they had never seen Swiss pigs before I took Bumble in so now a baby Swiss was very exciting, hehe!
 
She is stunning. Congratulations, I hope they will be very happy together.

Me too, they have already seen each other from a distance (didn't want them too close to the bars in case Bumb's caught her little infection) and were wheeking at each other!

She has rather a lot of growing to do in 8 weeks though, I am worried he will squish her :-S
 
awww she's gorgeous and looks tiny :) i hope her and bumble will be happy together :))
 
She is ickle, it's been four years since I had littleys as all the boys were older when I got them! My sister wants me to stop her growing lol.

So far she seems to be settling in well, I caught her popcorning all over the place this morning, she's so small it's like this big lump of cotton wool flying around the cage hehehe!

The Surolan (fungal cream stuff) is already kicking in and already her ears are less crusty, so fingers crossed we will knock it on the head by the end of the treatment. I wonder if Swiss are more prone to skin probs as Bumble had a bit of dry skin/fungally stuff when we got him...one to keep an eye on I think.

She let me catch her quite a bit easier tonight, and her and Bumble continue to wheek at each other whenever they see each other...just hope the nice greeting continue when they meet...!
