Shimmer and Saffron

Rusty got cold today. He wore his warm coat indoors.

The small animals all went to the vet today for pedicures and in Moondust's case, vaccinations.

Poor Moondust being all on her own again.

Did a bit of a clean out. Want to get something to cover the shed floor. Lino has shot up in price. Everything has!

Shed doors. They open in 4 parts. One of the top shutters is off in this pic to help let light in. I shut all the shutters at night and in bad weather.

I know. He would always cuddle right up to her and put his head down for washes. Awwww.

When Saffron and Shimmer went to the vet recently I put a warm fleecy cuddle cup thing for them to hide in (mainly their head and part of their body but at least they felt hidden).

Today I saw that Saffron had adapted it into a very comfortable chair for one!

Saffron you clearly have the right idea about using a snuggle fleece.
Has anyone told you recently that you are beautiful

Saffron stayed hidden today. I put a new cardboard box in the covered hay area with hay inside. She went in immediately and stayed put. Shimmer came out for food and was most impressed by the pea flakes from piggies parcels.

Even Shimmer munching didn't tempt Saffron out of her nesting box!

Moondust is looking very fluffy and slightly cross. She was also impressed by the pea flakes.

Welcome Cindy. A sweet little hamster from Bristol rabbit rescue. She is a hybrid winter white/campbell's dwarf hamster.

She was already named and it suits her so I am keeping it. She lives in my bedroom in a nice barred cage with plenty of bedding to dig in and sand to roll in and a wheel to run in!

I am so pleased she has gone to someone I 'know'. I saw her on their facebook posts and fell in love with her. Have a happy life in your new home sweet girl, you have landed on your feet in a lovely home.

She's gorgeous. Is she tame?

Well she doesn't shy away if I put my hand near her and that was when she had been here less than an hour which is a promising start. Also she would take treats from the foster carer's hand so she is well on the way to being tame.

I actually took pics of the shed crew today. Shimmer is so brave where food is concerned. Saffron prefers the safety of her box (hence no pics of her). Moondust comes out for food and loves to be in her hutch.

I reckon so!

The wonderful darling sweet adorable Cindy came out for a drink of water this morning. When I chatted to her she came towards me so I got some rodipet food, including mealworms and put them on my hand and held it out for her.

She climbed out and started eating, sniffed my hand a bit and kept on eating. I even managed to get pics. So pleased and so grateful to her foster mum for getting her to this level of ease around people.

I managed to get a couple of pics of the shed crew again today.

They were all highly impressed with piggie parcels hay cookies. Will be ordering more of those to be sure.

They were all highly impressed with a second helping of veggies today as well and some dried forage and hay.

Moondust loved hunting for her pellets in the ings hay that I put into her littler tray.

My darling dwarf hamster (winter white x campbells) ate from my hand again today. I love her.

Got some guinea pig pictures today. They had some forage scattered into their hay trays to try and make life a bit more interesting for them.

As usual Shimmer came out first and Saffron joined her when she heard the munching!

Cindy continues to be utterly wonderful.

I gave the guinea pigs a load of hay to help keep them warm. They were delighted.
