Hi, I have a 5 year old intact boar named Shippou. He's a short hair tricolor. About 1.9lbs.
About six months ago he developed a lump on his neck in the jowl area. It grew quite large about walnut sized. He was put on antibiotics and the lump shrank. When the antibiotics were discontinued the lump started growing again.
Then we had it aspirated and drained by a vet and she managed to pulled 38cc of a dark red fluid out of him. The vet said the fluid was old dead red blood cells and that the lump was a cyst. She prescribed him Baytril.
What is this cyst? Why is it filled with blood? Will antibiotics do anything for it?
