Firstly - Sorry admin i posted this in the wrong section earlier.

Please could anyone tell me what the essentials are for guinea pig owners?
Also for 2 Guineas do i need 2 of each of certain items like beds, hay racks, bowls, water bottles, litter trays?

Are vitamin supplements essential (vit c) of can they obtain this from the correct foods fed?

There are so many products out there and I'm spoilt for choice just need a little guidance please.:{
Kind regards
Kelly x

hey!
My piggies share their food bowl, water bottle and hay rack. If you find they're squabblling then invest in an extra one of whichever item they wont share. Mine have a hammock each and 1 tunnel and 1 cosy bed. I get old boxes from work and cut holes in them and swap bits around to keep them interested.

Vitamin c can be obtained from feeding a variety of fresh veg and a good pellet mix. Theres a thread about food in the food section so have a read over that.

Hope that helps a little!

Edited to add check out this site: http://www.thimbellina.com/#
Laura, aka Audioheart makes them and they're amazing, piggies love them.
And check out ebay for things like hammocks and hay racks, theres lots to suit various cage set ups.

I have to agree with gogoguineas, except if you have boys then I would get two of everything just to eliminate anything to argue over. Take the safe way out on those guys lol. GOOD LUCK!

I wouldn't fully deck out a cage unless you know your piggies already, you might end up wasting money it's a bit like decorating a nursery for a baby without knowing whether its a boy or a girl.

I have two boys and the only thing they have in duplicates is cardboard tunnels and little tents. They do have little squabbles and argue but so would you if you lived with your brother all your live in the same surroundings and even when you weren't in your cage the free space you had they were at the opposite side of the room.

My girls share everything, the only duplicate thing I had for the boys was 2 seperate area's to sleep in :)
