Hi

I have two entire boar piggies, who are between 1-2 years old. They do show dominance to each other, and I'm not sure if one is more dominant than the other, as they both size each other up and both try to lie on the other's back.

Should one be neutered to allow one to become dominant and allow the other to be submissive? At the moment, they keep running rings around each other and wabbling, and I wonder if its stressing them out.

I'm used to rabbits and dogs, who wash and groom each other when they are bonded, but these two piggies don't do that at all. Are all piggies like this?

Hi... Neutering guinea pigs does not change their behaviour unlike rabbits :) so neutering your piggies won't be necessary unless they are going to live with a female.

It sounds like normal boar behaviour - mounting can be mutual and is just mild dominance behaviour between boars.

Yeah neutering wont change their behavior. I looks like you may have two dominant pigs on your hands and neither wants to give in to the other.

How big is your housing for them? They may be happier with a bit of extra space to get away from each other and let things calm down.

Today, I'm giving them two of everything (whereas there was just one of everything before), and they seem to be happier and not sizing up to each other so much, and no mounting either. I think its change of environment as well. Their housing is 4ft x 2ft, and they get playtime in a 3ft x 3ft pen for 3-4 hours each night.
