Should I add another guinea pig?

I have 2 sows just under a year old. They have some dominance issues (sort of), and Mocha's weight has just passed the 700 grams mark (Muffin is the same age and she just passed 900), so I'm concerned she might be because of stress. Would adding a third pig do any good, because then Mocha wouldn't be the bottom? We have a homemade wood cage, that is almost 16 square feet, or the equivalent to a 2x5 C&C. Thanks!

If you feel the relationship is already strained then adding a third one into the mix would only make things worse. Have a look at the bonding guides for advice. Sorry can't link in on this device.

What dominance issues are you seeing? I agree with Betsy that adding a third pig to a tense bond could upset things further

This isn’t the case. She could still end up being the bottom of three which could be worse
