Had my little piggies, Poppy and Pixie, for a couple of months now and have never came across this until the other day. Recently we have had to move back in with my parents as we are waiting on the keys for our new house, I understand this can be stressful for piggies but I'm unsure if this has anything to do with one of my piggies, Poppy, having clumpy, sticking out fur. I have never came across this before, i have piggy friendly wipes which i have been using on her along with a brush which seems to take it away but I have noticed her scratching and itching a lot which could be to do with this but is this a sign for something underlying? Any help would be appreciated, she seems fine and is eating and drinking - just worried, as we all always are . Thanks for all your help

I agree with @VickiA - please check the skin where the pulled hairs are joining it; it is usually a sign of skin irritation, whether that is the beginnings of mange mites, fungal or a reaction to the change to drier/overheated indoors air.

It is self-inflicted and usually the reaction to some milder discomfort that is not yet so bad that a piggy is biting and gnawing on its skin until it is bloody.

Yeah it looks like she's been biting and nipping at herself. Which, as the other posters above mention could be a skin issue like mites.
