Since joining here and lurking in the background I cannot believe the amount of pigs that are bought into homes pregnant mainly from pet shops.

This isn't usually the fault of the people buying them but the fault of the shops selling them.

I guess a big thanks needs to go out the posters and organisers of this site because had I not read some of the stuff on here I dread to think what might have been if I hadn't resisted the temptation to buy two pigs from pets at home.

It is worrying the amount of pigs that need homes, it's a shame really.

If any new owners are looking to get new piggies and read this, please please research before hand and use a reputable rescue.

I can't stress that enough

Thanks you

I agree with you. It is just so sad and then what happens to the babies.:(

Thank you for expressing your thoughts on this - it's been a depressing couple of days for me what with having pigs that should have come in to rescue being sold instead and some members not comprehending the difference between genuine rescues and a breeder that uses the rescue label as they take on the occasional freebie.

It's lovely to know that the message about petshops is getting through as they and their poor policies that are the source of the majority of pigs in rescues and that by buying from them you are perpetuating the cycle.
