Should I be too worried?

We have a 2.5month old guinea pig called Shrek, we got him 2 weeks ago for our son's birthday and he was such a funny little thing, always jumping about and running round his cage and just generally being really happy.
Well at the beginning of last week he started to become quieter and sleepy, we weren't too sure what to do but by Thursday we where really worried because he would sleep virtually all day, we took him to a vet who gave him a steroid jab and some anti biotics because she said he had an ear infection.
Well he's been taking them twice daily as prescribed but he's getting worse, now he's not eating or drinking, i've been trying to drop water into his mouth because surely a little is better than none, he also cannot walk, if he tries to stand he just flops over and tries to claw his way about, if he tries to move at all that is, most of the time he just sits huddled in one spot. He looks so sorry for himself. We are contacting the place we bought him from tomorrow as we only had him 2 weeks and demanding they get him into a vet at their cost as its really worrying.

That's horrible :( Shrek needs to see a vet straight away, he sounds pretty bad off. In my opinion, get the little one to the vet first, then charge the place for the vet bill if you must, but don't wait.

They will only pay if you first speak to them, it says on our receipt that they do not pay vet bills without prior arrangement.
I mean don't get me wrong, if they won't sort him tomorrow we will take him anyway and pay for his treatment ourselves.

Definitely don't wait, he's VERY poorly.

He needs antibiotics regularly and critical care food syringed to him (you can wet and mash up his pellets to syringe him).

he needs a vet now if he has paralysis, that's not good.

Fingers crossed.
