Hi, I'm new to this forum, but it looks like a very active place and I hope you guys can help me me out! I have two lovely girls, Flower and Indy. Flower is poorly at the moment and has to be kept indoors so I can keep an eye on her overnight. I'm worried about leaving Indy outdoors alone, but given that they're used to the cold weather, I'm not sure what sort of affect it would have on her to bring her indoors where it's a lot warmer. If I did bring her in, I'd still have to keep them separate, but it might be less lonely for them both if they can at least see one another. I'm not sure what the best thing to do would be. Any advice? Thank you! :)

Edit: Sorry, I don't know if this is the right forum. Maybe housing would've been better?

Unless Flower is contagious I would not seperate her from her friend Indy since this can cause further stress. I do appreciate your concerns about bringing them into the warmth but many people tend to bring their pigs in around this time of year and then return them outside in spring when the temperature rises Could this be an option for you ?

Indoors would certainly be better for an ill piggy but I agree - it would stress her out to be moved away from her companion. Also it would be difficult to put her back out after being in the warmth indoors. If possible I'd do what piggiesforever suggests and bring them both in for the winter.

She isn't contagious, she has just had a wound stapled and will probably be quite sore for some time, so I think it's best that she can rest alone.

Keeping them indoors for more than a few days isn't really an option; there just isn't enough space for them inside. If I managed to somehow insulate the hutch, would that be enough to keep them warm after being inside for two or three days?

Thank you for your input. :3

Edit: If I bring them both inside, I was planning to put up some kind of divider so that they can still see each other without causing Flower any pain.
