Hello, I was wondering if I should give my piggies Parsley/Cilantro? I have never given it to my guinea pigs, but I hear they like it. I also hear that they are high in calcium. Knowing that, should I give it to them? I am very paranoid about stones!

thought id add a picture of Brutus (2018-2021)

Cilantro/coriander is absolutely fine to be fed to them. Mine get some every day
Parsley is high calcium so while it is fine to feed it to them, they shouldn’t be given much and they shouldn’t be given it often - one or two sprigs once per week only is enough

so in the long run you would recommend cilantro over parsley?

Mine do too - it’s their midday snack of choice.
Parsley is an occasional treat as is dill.

Cilantro is fed daily here too. So much so, I'm now growing some. Treat herbs that I feed only a few times a month are parsley, dill, basil, thyme and oregano. Fennel is fed more often but no more than once a week.
