yesterday one of my guinea pigs died. I’m pretty sure it was something to do with his breathing. Should I bring my other piggy to the vet to get checked out to make sure he isn’t sick with the same thing or should I just wait to see if there’s any symptoms or weight loss to bring him in for anything

Sorry for your loss. If you are at all worried about your remaining piggie take it to the vet. Guinea pigs are very good at hiding symptoms until it is too late. A vet would rather see a well piggy with an anxious owner than a sick piggy where the owner has left it too late.

I am so sorry, personally I would get the piggy checked if you are able to. However if you would prefer not too (and I often end up at the vets too soon so they can't tell what is wrong and I have to go back) then weigh daily and keep an eye on what they eat.

I agree - it’s always good to get a guinea pig checked in any case of concern.
Hopefully it will just reassure you but it’s much better to pick up illness early.

So sorry for your loss

Please always have a companion vet checked if a piggy has died from a potentially infectious problem. Also conduct a 2-3 weeks quarantine before you get a new friend.
