hi, i have 2 male guinea pigs and one of them had ringworm ( it has gone away now) i plan too put them back together, but i was wondering if i should re-introduce them since i seperated them beacuse of the ringworm should i re-introduce them? they have never fought and seem to enjoy each others company.

Yes please do attempt to reintroduce them. We don’t ever recommend separating piggies for medical grounds as they can refuse to go back together but please do follow the guide below on how to introduce piggies. You will need to make sure you put them both in a neutral territory bonding pen to reestablish their relationship first. Don’t just put them back into their normal cages together as this can cause a territorial fight.

also we had to also seperate them beacuse the newer (and younger) male was not eating much. And the younger male (smokey) was very stressed out.(sadly we are first time pet owners and we did not introduce them correctly) Fortunatly he is no longer stressed out. And misses his older pig freind.

are they both well and eating properly now? If a piggy stops eating then they need to be syringe fed and to see a vet urgently.
why was the other one stressed? Separating bonded piggies causes stress, so once youve got them back to together again, then don’t separate them unless they have a fight or bullying (not to be confused with dominance) and their bond is broken.

two boars need a cage of 180cm x 60cm as lack of space between them can cause Problems.

yes they are eating very well now. in fact the younger pig seems to be eating much better now!

Thats good!
Weigh them both every week as part of routine care (switching to weighing daily during any periods of illness) so you can be sure they are eating enough hay. Hay is their largest daily food intake and unfortunately you cant judge they are eating enough of it by eye - hence weighing them. If there is any drop in weight (over daily fluctuations) then you step in as it can, In some cases, be an early sign of illness.
