Dobby from the start was the out going one he adored human interaction and would sit in your arms and nibble away at whatever you gave him, of late he's started going more into himself and you can feel his heart pounding when you get him out then once he's out he just wants to go back into his cage. Sock on the other hand is getting better at coming out so it's almost like a bit of a role reversal.

Could it be something that is making him agitated and he is finding handling painful in some way?

I've checked for mites around the ears and couldn't see anything, he seems to be sneezing a bit but it seems to only happen when he's got his nose in his hay rack so I'm thinking it's probably him getting irritated by hay. They both seem to be eating and drinking normally otherwise.

After writing this they have decided not to eat there veg tonight which they normally tuck right into so thought I would just update it to add that.

I would keep a close eye on them and check their weights every day. I would also check the state of their poos too. A trip to a piggy savvy vet is never wasted, if only for piece of mind.

I agree, keep a close eye on them and if they aren't eating then I think a trip to the vets is worth its weight in gold for piece of mind.

Agreed. Keep a close eye. They are very good at hiding things. As Dindypig says, keep a close eye on weight etc and as already said a trip to the vet never hurts :) Hope dobby is ok. :)

Sorry just got online - they seem ok they went mad on there veggies about an hour or so after I posted the last post, this morning they had no hey or pellets left so there appetite definitely picked back up. We have been ill ourselves and the OH still isn't right (he's off to the docs later) so I'm just wondering if it's because we are around and have put them out of routine and they aren't getting there normal quiet time while OH is at work and me and the dog go and see my parents.

Will definitely weigh them everyday and keeping a very close eye on them :)

Thank you all so much :) will definitely be weighing them daily from now on as well.

They are so much more 'themselves' today they were back to being interested when I was cleaning them out and they have been out for hugs and even been popcorning around - we are obviously spending to much time around them lol.

Piggies can react differently if you're suddenly at home all day, they do like their routine. They may now be adapting to a new routine. Please remember to weigh them at the same time each time. the difference in weight before and after veggies can be as much as 40gms. Glad to hear that they are popcorning again.
