Normally I'll take them out and feed them their veggies, or just stick them in their cage. Should I be putting them in a bowl?

That is up to you! I put mine in a bowl but that is for my benefit not theres. Firstly, I have 3 lots of veggies to go out to the shed so bowls are easier to carry. Also, they make less mess if it is in a bowl so less spot cleaning for me.

I could throw it in the cages onto the floor and the piggys would be fine with that - in fact it would probably be more natural for them because they would have to root around to get their food.

Hmm...you I usually try to hide their veggies around the cage to make sure they still have their foraging skills.

I put them in a bowl.

The thing is, I used to just place, say, a whole carrot in their cage. they would eat a bit of it, leave the rest, which would then be all mucky from bedding and them walking or sitting on it. (especially with moist things like cucumber and tomatoe etc).

Now I chop all fruit and veg into little bits and put them in a bowl. My piggies take one piece out, eat it, and if they are not hungry anymore, the rest of the fresh food is still nice and clean in the bowl, instead of just being left somewhere by them.
Mine had a habit of dragging their food into their houses to eat it, and I was never sure if there was some old bit of fruit still hiding somewhere.

My lot used to have it in a bowl, but they would always manage to tip it up! ::) It's all scattered now and gets eaten by the morning :)

i dont put mine in a bowl i put it in a little pile buy there drish

my 4 have eating it all in a few hours anyways and if there is still stuff there when i go to feed them again i take it out and throw it away as i know if there not eating buy next meal time there wont eat it

I put my lots veggies all around their cages as there is 9 females sharing and i am sure they would scabble having to share a bowl
seems to work for my lot as no one goes with out.
They can pick and choose what they want and nothing is ever left over

we put our veggies in one bowl, sometimes its total chaos when they all go for them at once especially the cages with lotsa piggies in,but really funny to watch them fight over one lettuce leaf etc seeing who's gonna win when its pulled

I love watching that too. Sometimes they sit for ages while the leaf goes from one to another. In the guineas pen there is a long half tube (actually an old heater cover but it's great because I cover it so it's a safe hidey place). One of mine has sussed out that if she gets the whole lettuce leaf she can run to the tube and stick her head in to eat it and the others can't get to her.

I put the veggies in a bowl for our piggies. Then remove it as soon as its empty, takes mine all of 20 minutes to eat thier greens ;)

I put my boys veg on a plate and they hoover it up within minutes. :o They really are greedy pigs. ;D

I put the veggies straight in their cage but only cause there never seems to be any left in the morning. If they do leave bits I take them out.

I usually make a little salad and put it in a bowl. C:

But I also give them treats sometimes of, say, a whole small carrot - which I feed them by hand, and then put the rest in their cage.

I scatter my piggies veggies round the cage, esp the sows as there in a big group to make sure they all get some
