Shoulder sitting

Me and my friend were last night discussing why guinea pigs insist on sitting on your shoulder, I said that i thought it was because they sit very low in the food change so sitting on my shoulder means that they have a good vantage point that allows them to see any a[pproaching enemies, has anyone else got any suggestions? I also think that they are been nosey
