What do you store your opened food in? Details of brand name (eg trixie, wilko own brand etc), how much it will hold and where you got it from plus any pros or cons (and even photos) would be great please.

So to start. Erm - a bag clip from Lakeland and an old plastic bag (Can you guess why I've started this thread?!).

Hahaha, great thread. Since I've only just moved my piggies outdoors, my summerhouse is my current ' all things storage ', suspect that will have to change though.

The pigs' 4kg bag of Bunny fits in easily and it keeps it really fresh.

Hamster food is in standard tupperware.

@piggyfan (I think) recommended these in another thread (about storage for 10kg bag of food) so it seems they might be popular.

Is the fabric very thick/heavy duty? How well does the folding down to fit the amount of food you have in them function ( described on the site) work?

Is the lid a zip closure and if so is it a good quality zip?

I went to the dollar store and got these tall containers that has a very sturdy flip-up type lid. it can fit a whole bag of piggy pellets in it and the lid is very secure...I think they are designed to hold cereal for people who take it out of the boxes

IKEA flip top cereal storage container. Don't ask me how much as I've had them ages but I'm sure they didn't break the bank

It is really thick fabric, I would not say the folding down works that well but I am only using the small one at the moment. It is a good quality zip. I keep the food in there in it's packet.

yeah the scoop is very small so i actually use a poop scoop for the pig food as it fills their bowls quicker and i use the small white scoops from the picture for my rat food as their bowls are smaller

I just have the 15kg JR Farm Pellets sitting in the bag they came in with it rolled around itself :/

I'm planning on buying the 10kg bags of food using amazon spend and save so this is really useful. I'll be keeping the big bag in the shed, but that asda storage bin looks useful for not having to traipse out there every day (shed is at the bottom of garden).
