Show us your hay racks/feeders

Thought it would be useful if people could share their hay dispensers/racks/feeders. As hay is such a large part of piggies diets, I know I would benefit from others sharing a pic of their hay feed units/racks.

Personally I am interested in solutions for hutches as I cannot seem to find something that works well long term for my set up. If I was lucky enough to have room for a c&c cage I would simply be able to use some spare grids to knock up a feeder but wondered what people used in their pig palaces.

i use a trixie metal hay holder in my hutches they screw onto the back panel.the distance between the panels are small enough that a guinea pig cannot get their head stuck,which has been the danger with some hay racks.20160924_165252.webp20160924_165252.webp I'm sorry this photo is blurred but you can see the hayrack.i got these from website zooplus.
 
My two are in a hutch. I stuff the hutch full of meadow hay for eating, playing, toileting on. I put in a bowl of Timothy hay. I only use the bowl as a way to reduce the amount that gets pooped on as the Timothy hay is more expensive and they can’t get in a bowl as easily (although they’re probably plotting a way to do it right now!) as a tray. It’s not entirely successful as they do just pull some of it out, but it does seem to help a little! They won’t touch any hay that gets put in a hay rack though!
 
All four of mine seem to hate eating from a rack so I’ve given up! I buy hay in bulk so trying not to worry about waste but basically about a third of their 240cm cage will just be one massive heap of hay. They seem to enjoy that better and play in it, making tunnels etc
 
That’s a 3kg heap of hay in there with shop bought tunnels underneath.

My pigs have the trixie hay rack with the lid on so they can’t climb into it. They they have a tray underneath which keeps it a bit tidier and they often pee a lot more in the tray so I can change the pee pad more often.

I made it with some grids I got at a yard sale, they were open except for a few squares on one side. I had the extra ramp from something else, then just zip ties to put it all together

I have that same rack for the hutch as well, in both floors of the hutch. I also have hay racks that hangs in the C&C.

Thank you! I really like it! I don’t think I’d be able to find grids like that though.

These are my new hay pans for Finn and Lara. They get one of each in their cages, and one is for their playpen so I bought three.
The size of the hay pan is roughly 20cm height, 31cm length, 36cm width, which translates to around 8 inch high, 12 inches length and 14 inches width.
I wanted bigger hay pans and these are pretty generous in size. Their old hay pan is a bit smaller and shorter in height so hay would spill out.

I bought those in the past. I don't know about you guys but when my Finn's head got stuck in one of the holes, I just had to stop using them. I got scared that he won't be able to get his head out when I am not home or something.
I am a bit overprotective though.

This is such a good idea, you could definitely sell these if you had like an etsy store or something, they're so cute, you could do them based on pictures that people send and then turn the shape of the photo into a shadow

Hmm, I do have an Etsy account that I haven’t used in years...
