We just started using a litter tray with abit of wood shavings. And hay on top.

They do all there pees in it so its handy.

That's a 120cm cage. We are going to be upgrading to the C and C after Xmas the 150 cm one.

Our 3x2 c&c cage extension is a hay room (with hay loft)

Plus we have 2 Rosewood corner rabbit litter trays for hay in the other cage sections which my floof lady prefers!

Where do you get your hay trays from? It might cut down on the amount of washing I have to do if they pee in that instead! The dirtiest bit of fleece is always beneath the hay rack.

Hay trays here, with home made hay bags above to hold the 'special' (aka expensive) hay.

I have a 1x2 hay loft, lined with newspaper and a layer of fitch bedding. It's meant to keep the hay off the fleece but still gets everywhere. But the pigs like it.

Maybe correx could be used to make a mini hay area that's the right size for the hutch.

I use an actual cat litterbox and clipped the microfiber towels in there with a pad below it

the extra towel is then clipped to thw wall to make a tunnel/hammock/stairs if they were too lazy to jump in, covering the edges with the towel helps with any possible slipping accidents and keeps the hay and poop from going underneath which makes it super easy and fast to clean and replace.


and it lets the piggies go crazy and make a mess without it getting out and they seem to poop and pee almost always there. It's a waste of hay as you can see but u can mix in rack ideas with this litterbox. Just make sure not to buy the litterboxes that are too high and you're good to go

I use a regular hay bin from the petstore. Gonna buy the trixie hayrack next week as a replacement because they always tip over their hay bin.

A great option for a hay rack are the over the door storage baskets you can get from homeware shops. They store plenty of hay and are usually cheaper than the hay racks you find in stores

I’ve had my guinea pigs for a whole week now, and have been debating the best type of hay feeder. I was putting it in a waste paper basket, on its side, but don’t like the idea of the pigs dirtying their meal! I knew I wanted something that I could hang but have been put off by your horror stories! A few months ago. I made a macrame plant holder out of an old tshirt. I actually think this is a great idea to use as a hay feeder. Your comments would be most appreciated!
