I'd like to see all the different bowls of veggies people give to their piggies! We all have our own ways of doing it with regards to how we cut it up, what we feed and quantities so I thought it would be nice to share and maybe give others some ideas :) Would be good to state how many piggies it feed too :D

My girls get a bowl in the morning and evening so I will post a pic when I do their veg this evening:tu:

I've never heard of this diet. Can I ask what it's purpose is and what you do? x
It is designed to prevent cystitis and bladder sludge. It consists of bunny or vitakraft pellets and,
1 green bean
1 slice of green pepper
1 sprig coriander
1 slice of spring greens
1 slice of cucumber
2 slices of celery

Thanks for that. Have your pigs benefited from it? I'd be interested in trying this but they are used to more veg wise, I don't want them to lose weight. How did you go about implementing the change. Sorry for the questions - I'm intrigued. I have a boy who must be around 5-6 now and want to keep him going as long as we can. :)

First I implemented the veg change and they got used to it in a few days. I changed over the pellets in a week which was too soon, you are meant to take a month. They all lost weight but now their weight has stabilised. The reason they lost weight was due to them being on burgess which is full of sugar and other junk and is fattening for them.

Please feel free to ask any questions. Now I rarely see any calcium deposits and they only Wheek before veg time not all day long like they used to!

This may be beneficial for us as our boys wheek constantly too and I have noticed calcium deposits on occasion I think. They are on science selective atm and I reckon I have just enough for a month if I were to slowly mix the new one in like you say. They like all of those foods anyway and at least it would leave me with more peppers aha

Which of the two pellets do you guys use. They are quite expensive so I'd prefer to get the one that they are most likely to enjoy. Thanks for being patient x

I tried bunny but mine hated them so I use vitakraft. Bunny are the better ones as they do not contain any fruit. They only need five pellets a day so they are not hugely expensive.

I don't give veggies in a bowl or on a plate. I cut everything up and throw it all into a washing up bowl. I then go round the hutches, and depending on how many piggies in each one, I just scatter all over the hutch a few handfuls of veg. In that way they have to forage around in the hay to find their veg and everyone has a good chance to get their share. When I put it in a bowl or on a plate I found certain pigs would grab most of it, and the quieter ones didn't get their fair share.

Hmm. I'm wondering if my piggies might have too much?. I'll post a picture in a moment
