I have a group of guineas living together, and if I put a pile of food down one bossy guinea will go and sit on the food (while eating it) so the others have to grab what they can.
I'm guessing she does this for dominance :)) so I've had to spread the food out now, but does anyone else have a guinea that does this
 
ROFL I haven't noticed mine do that. They are funny little things. Best thing to do is spread it about like you are doing, can't be in too places at once! :))
 
Yeah you have done the right thing spreading it out! Mine sometimes fight over the last pieces of lettuce :))
 
mine can have a huge pile of food in front of them but if one has a piece of lettuce the other one always wants that particular piece! They take it off each other all the time, just dont know how to share!
 
Yep they fight over one measly piece of lettuce too! Even if there's loads more food rolleyes:))
She did it again today, I put a huge pile of readigrass in the hutch and they all rushed out for it, the bossy guinea (who is also HUGE) sat on it and pushed her bum into anothers face so she couldn't get it :)):)):))
 
LOL, mine all do this! I always put equal amounts of food, so if there are 5 pigs together they get 5 (or more) bits of everything - carrot, cucumber etc. but they still will fight over one small piece even when there are other bits laying unattended! They're like kids with a toy
