Hi

We have 2x boys, about 4 months old who we have had since 8 weeks. One of them is starting to become quite tame, loves a tickle of the head and ears at feeding time or just in general in the hutch (he is the more dominant piggie). However, with second piggie is much more reserved, isn't keen on being touched much although is slowly getting a bit better but is much more in the back ground rather than at front at feeding time like his brother and isn't as inquisitive when I got to the hutch, much prefers to hide.

Is there anything I can do to help encourage him out of his shyness?

Thanks.

The more time you can spend with them both the better! Sitting by the cage, talking to them quietly will allow them to get used to your voice and scent with no pressure.
Tasty treats will help as well, as I'm sure you're finding out 😁
Some piggies are just more shy than others, but as your other pig becomes more confident, I think he will follow his lead soon enough.

Thanks, they both are happy to take treats from us and have since only a few days into being with us which is good, they seem happy but I guess it's still pretty early days.
That's great! Piggies can sometimes take a while to get used to you; being prey animals they need to really trust you before coming out of their shell fully. But when they do it's so worth it ☺️
