Thanks guys! I brought him home today. He is not really his normal self, very quiet, not curious and just stands there and stares a lot. I feel very sorry for the poor . He doesn't move much (which came in handy for syringe feeding!) and is lying down lots but is nibbling at fresh veg and hay slowly (I got him some Timothy especially, he also has Oat and Meadow to choose from) . He is not eating much tbh but I did syringe feed him at least about 25ml of the RP in one sitting and it wasn't much of a problem.
The nurse told me that they couldn't find what the problem was but his breathing was now fine and that most piggies they see have problems due to not getting enough nutrients. I told her what I feed and she said it sounds like he would get enough but suggested Burgess Excel as that's what she used to use herself; I was considering switching anyhow due to selective feeding but tbh it's not that bad but the muesli I get from my farm shop does have seeds in as well as lots of pellets and minimal grape/apple. Another possibility could be that I have been having a bathroom refit and even though it has not been as dusty as I imagined, there is quite a layer of dust on stationary things lying around that I noticed yesterday. Perhaps the grey dust from the plasterboard from the small bit of drilling gave him lung problems. I actually was never going to get any piggies until it was done but my friend bought me Benji for Xmas so I didn't have much choice and my flat is not very big so I had nowhere really to protect them.
Thanks. I already bought them from Medicines4Pets as it was the cheapest I found online with delivery. It's cheaper to buy a 10 single sachets than a 10 pack box for some reason. I didn't see much about this company online so was suspicious, but I did find they they have a 9.8 on TrustedReviews plus I could pay by Paypal, so if they did do a runner then I could get my money back, which I don't think will be the case. Unfortunately, I bought 16 to get the >£30 free postage and the nurse at the Hospital today told me that perhaps that was a bit too many lol so I will have to return some.
It was the Sir Harold Harmsworth RSPCA Animal Hospital in Finsbury Park. You need to either be on state benefits or have an income of either under £200pw. If you are on Housing Benefit then they will accept that as proof (I think you can get HB even if you earn over £200pw depending on your rent/circumstances) but you can't really take someone else's papers as they will ask for your passport to confirm it is you. If you know someone in this situation then you will have to take them along to register. You have to also be in their catchment are also which covers most of N & E London and the RSPCA Putney Animal Hospital covers pretty much the rest of London. I think the only borough not covered is Redbridge.
The bill wasn't much tbh only £47.24, though there was no surgery involved just 'intensive care' I guess..I was expecting at least £100. In total it cost me £97.24 as the initial Vet fee was £40. Does anyone know how this would compare to a private vet?

Well, seems I only had to give him the RP for 1 day and the next he was back to normal eating the muesli and new pellet mix (moving them onto the Burgess Excel).
Unfortunately, I had ordered 16 RP and now I have 18 and no need for them..I tried to ask medicines4pets if I could return them (have not even opened the package) and they said yes but it would cost a £5 'restocking fee' (plus the return postage I would pay myself), so about £9 at least! WHAT A CON! Restocking my a**e! All they will do is open the package and put them back on the shelf! 1st time I have ever come across this in an online retailer - and I shop online for everything except food. Well, the cheap price came with a catch and I will not be using them again and I recommend other people to watch out for this. Tbh I think aside for the RP, most things you can get cheaper elsewhere so don't bother with them. If anyone would like to buy any recovery plus from me I have enough to make your piggy a superpiggy! lol

Yes about 3 would suffice and I could have gotten some more if I needed it but not 18 lol
I think they have a year's expiry as the ones I got from PAH do and I am hoping that none of them will ever need to be force fed that watery porridge anytime soon lol
They are full of organic matter so I might just keep them in the freezer to last longer.
