I thought I would make a thread where I will post all the photos I take of my piggies :)
They are in a new cage right now (moved in yesterday), so I tried to take these few really quick today, I don't want to intervene with their process of asserting dominance over the new area.
The darker one is Sidrun, he is the dominant one. The one with agouti fur and a crest on his head is Nidhogg. They are both about 3 years old, with Nidhogg being a few months younger.
The bonding in the new area is going well so far, quite a bit of rumblestrutting and nudging, but no fights.

Welcome to the forum.
Gorgeous piggys. I will look forward to seeing more pictures whe they are settled. I am glad they are doing well in their new home.

Such sweet piggies!:drool: We’re all nuts about piggies on here :) so spam away with photos, we can never have enough photos of piggies :D

Welcome to the forum :wel:

I will take photos during floor time when my husband gets home from work, but right now a few more from the cage I took today!
So here is Sidrun in his new favorite place. He used to not do that and eat from the side, but spends half the time there in the new cage. And of course, Nidhogg started doing the same thing like the follower he is.

This is their cage, it is a 2x5 + 2x2:

And Nidhogg in the cardboard house they fill probably destroy in a few days as usual:

They are napping together right now and seem friendly towards each other, which makes me very happy.

Welcome to the forum and for sharing your stunning piggies here with us, hope to see lots more of them soon!

I have been really busy right now, so no new photos, but the reason I have been busy is... we adopted 3 new piggies! All female (checked a hundred times just to be sure, I do not want any babies in this house haha). One is a black-white-beige smooth-haired baby, one is mostly black, but spots of white and beige abyssinian and one is mostly white with beige spots Abyssinian (if I remember correctly, I don't want to go poking them right now). They are so cute, but I can't take any photos right now, they need time to settle in. They are all sitting in their houses right now. Hope to see them exploring soon :) They have a 2 meters by 0.7 meters cage, seems to be enough right now, but we can always expand once they are bigger :)

By the way: Does anyone know if it's possible to change the thread title? So I could include my new loves

Omg! How cute are they?!

I have a question - is it possible that my boys might fall out of friendship because the females are in the same room? I am kind of scared to go to school tomorrow in case they might have a fight. I do see them sniffing the air and reacting to the sounds the sows are making. The sows are not directly next to them.

It is possible but rare to be honest. Should be fine, often in boarding places sows and boars are in the same room without issues

What did you want your thread title amending to?

Update: Sõstar (the smooth haired one) is popcorning and running around like crazy. Might it be because she used to be alone and is now happy to have company? Piña Colada is exploring and eating hay and interacting with Sõstar. Chihiro (mostly black haired Abyssinian) took the longest to come out of her little house and is the shy one. There is so much chatter going on :)
A photo of Nidhogg chilling in their favorite spot - my shirt haha. He was sleeping before my camera woke him up

So we went to the veterinary ER with Nidhogg today. He has a bit of a stuffed nose, but luckily no problems with lung or heart. But what he does have, is A LOT of gas in his stomach, which must be quite painful. We were there for two hours. They made multiple X-rays of him, injected pain killers and fluids under his skin and gave him some medicine to help the gases come out and oxygen. I have to give him three different kinds of medicine at home twice a day, plus a Recovery food fluid.
It is going to be a tough week guys, but I hope everything will be okay in the end.

So we went back right now to check on him. His condition has worsened. They are going to manually empty his stomach and then check for foreign objects that might be causing the blockage.

:yikes: Oh dear that doesn't sound very nice your poor piggy! Poor you too as you will be worried about him.

Nidhogg is going to be left in the veterinary clinic for the night. Updates tomorrow. They say it is promising.
On good news - the three baby sows are doing really great! All of them are taking food from my hand and sniffing my fingers through the cage. My dog knows to keep away from the cage (I have a very small poodle), but the curiosity got the best of her when I wasn't looking and Pina Colada went and sniffed my dog who had walked up to the cage. They put their noses against one another and Pina Colada tried to nibble on my dogs nose... Dog was confused and walked away. (Don't worry, my dog wouldn't be able to bite them even if she wanted to, her teeth are not okay at all and she has trouble chewing and biting. She's a rescue dog, quite old and very calm, sleeps all day.)
Sõstar is compleately hyperactive, she keeps popcorning and zooming so hard that she bumps into others and the walls all the time. She always comes out first from hiding too. Discovered that she has a crest on her head!
Since they are quite used to me right now and chilling around in their cage I got to take some photos (excuse the poop, it keeps appearing so fast haha)
