Both of my boys are very itchy at the moment and whilst there's no dark flecks on the fur or any sign of issues other than the itchiness, I'm concerned. They recently had a massive fight during which they both sustained injuries and had to be split, is it possible that this has knocked their immune system down enough to let in some creepies? I'm debating going back to the vet with them, AGAIN, to see if there's a genuine problem, but I'd rather not put them both through the stress of it is all if it's just dust in the hay or something.

I did recently try that sweet green hay you can get off amazon, and it's not been great quality so I've been mixing it with my usual Great & Small hay, is it possible they've got some nasties from the green stuff? It's definitely been heat treated and vac packed, but who knows?!

Anyone have any advice? They're still on the same fleece combo bedding they've always had, still in the same run, just divided, so nothing else has changed.

How does their hair look? does it seem broken half way down the shaft? if so, this would indicate mange mites. If they are scratching a lot though, then a vet visit is needed. It is possible that their immune systems could have taken a hit with the fighting. If it is mange mites though you would not see them as they are under the skin.

@helen105281 Hair looks perfect, not broken, glossy, shiny, as usual really. I think I'm going to strip down the cage this evening to make sure it's not the hay and if they're still as itchy on the usual hay, I'll take them in. Thanks for the reply!
