Signs of a grieving piggy... or just upset.

Everything with Patrick and Pebbles is absolutely fantastic, but Wilma is a worry, she hasn't wheeked for veggies just sits in the one place. This behaviour only started today, when she was out on the grass she munched her little head off... , since veggies time my dad was in the room looking at the pigs, my mum insisted in seeing the pigs too this all being lovely.. it wasn't really lovely for the pigs them suddenly taking an interest so I took Wilma out fed her all her favourites as she didn't come up for any, she ate them rightly, when returning her to the cage she yet again sat in the same spot and did nothing so in a bid to help my wee madam we have my room covered in hay theres grass... flaked peas everything a piggy could want and shes moving about exploring and eating... I can even hear an exploring squeak am I being paranoid or is something wrong?!

Could it be because she doesn''t like the cage... or is this just Wilmas personality and she was just taking que from her sister?

That's a tough one. I don't know the answer but you sound like you are doing right with what you are doing...

I will be doing this soon with Flopsy - she'll be leaving her sister. They don't seem very close but you never know.

Just a thought, I could be wrong and someone more experienced might have a better idea.
It could be because there is no longer the competition of eating everything up before the other. She may be a little bit down and think oh there's no rush it will be there later.
Not sure what to suggest to solve this, so I guess I'm not being very helpful, hopefully someone will have a good suggestion for you.

Eating is a good thing isn't it?.... I have them out just now and she is happily munching hay...

Maybe its something to do with the cage?...I might move her and Fred to the ground level... and see if that helps.

Don't panic yet. They've all had a bit of an upheaval over the last few days with all the changes. It might just be taking Wilma a bit longer to adjust. Also they haven't seen your parents for a week. She might have been hoping they'd moved out and pigs were soon to take over the whole house. rolleyes

Hope she gets back to her old self soon. xx

Perhaps leave them where they are for a couple of days rather than change things straight away.

Yes I think your right... I'll leave it a few days I have them out for floortime just now and she seems fine...

I think she just wanted extra grass .

Btw do you like my bedroom floor... ... It wasn't me it was the pigs, I'm going to stop panicking, I think it might have been because different people were in the room and maybe shes having a lazy day, but she seems perfectly healthy outside the cage.

I agree. Give it a few days - she's eating and that's good.

So far shes had all the grass, countless hay, extended floor time... brocolli.. need I go on.. shes clearly smarter than I once thought ...

Wilma wheeked and ran over... but I do think she has a problem with the hayloft as I watched her consider going up for a long time she even attempted and stopped so going to put some hay in on her level!

Can you put an old beach towel over the hayloft to make it look more protected? I have a towel over my mezzanine floor and the piggies just love it!

Otherwise, give Wilma time to adjust. She can still hear Pebbles, but the separation, a new cage and so many people at once can be a bit much to deal with for a shy piggy!
