Ocelot
Junior Guinea Pig
I have two 9 week old boars. Last week, I noticed Bob had a small cut on his nose. I've been looking out for signs of them fighting, as I know they should be separated if they hurt each other, but beyond a bit of growling, they have been ok (I've checked out the boar behaviour stickies on here). I decided Bob had maybe cut himself scratching and I've been keeping an eye on it. Anyway, this morning I noticed Bob now has several marks around his nose and it looks sore. I'm really worried as I'm not sure if this is something fungal or mites or something or whether Lenny has done it. Yesterday, they were in their run and Lenny was charging about a lot which was making Bob run about too - they seemed a bit jittery around each other and I've not really noticed Lenny's charging around make Bob seem so edgy before. Bob is really shy and wary of us so far so I really don't want to take him to the vet unless I have to as I think he'll find it really stressful. I'm not sure whether to separate them or to take them to the vet. He also has some white marks behind one ear. I'm thinking vet would be best to be on the safe side but do you think I should also keep them apart? I've attached pics ...
Thanks!
