Hi guys, i'm new to the forum :D
I've got four piggys, three sisters who live together & a male. One of my girls lost her squeek maybe around 5/6 weeks ago? She's always been a very vocal piggy, she did plenty of chirpring & any sound of a rustling bag she'd be there squeeking away with the others. Right before she lost her squeek she did begin to make this noise, a very low pitched short repetitive squeek, when she was sat around not doing much, I used to think it was like a little snore. Then it just went and I heard nothing for weeks. A few days ago she did make a very loud squeek when I entered the room (around feeding time), but i've had nothing again since  I've taken her to the vet, he says everything sounds good. She's eating, drinking & pooing normally. Is my pig just making me worry for no reason?! Has this ever happened to anybody before?

Also, one of my other girls is more than half the size of the other three, i feed them all at the same time, i've even started taking her out & feeding her extra. She's just bone, you can feel her spine and her ribs by just stroking her. I could hold her with my little finger if i wanted. She's always hungry, she drinks plenty (more than the others put together), shes very energetic & lively, she poo's normally however the poo's are tiny, but there seems to be no upset in her personality, should I be worried about her?

I've had them for over a year now & as you can tell i'm guinea pig obsessed, really sorry if you've heard these stories lots before!
Thank you for your time.
Lorna

HI!
Silent piggies are just that; not every piggy is a big wheeker. Nothing wrong with them.

I would have your skinny piggy vet checked, including the back teeth (which not all general vets may be able to), to make sure that you are not missing an obvious reason for her weight loss. It is good that you are feeling her separately, but you can also top her up with syringe feed, as much as she likes. Weigh her daily at the same time instead of weekly.
Please be aware that too long incisors are usually a reflection of problems at the back, so any vet that just clips front teeth is actually making things worse without addressing the true cause. The bottom incisors always look to long.

:wel: to the forum. One of my piggies is very quiet - seldom makes a sound, whereas the other 3 are very vocal. I think it just depends on the piggies' individual personalities.
