What's the best way to weigh a gp? I thought I should just to monitor them.

I have digital scales. I put a large bowl on the scales setting to zero in grams. I the place the scales and bowl in a large plastic laundry basket and then place pig in the bowl and weigh. Works for me. :)

My two will happily stay in the flat part of the scale without the bowl long enough for me to weigh them. I've been keeping a record of thier weights sine I got them when they were only 3 weeks old (they are now 8 months) The have seemed to have reached their peak now as their weights only seem to vary by around 20g each week Coco is 975g & Smudge is around 1050g. One week they may lose 20g but its always back on the next week so I've put this down to the scales being in a slightly different place in the worktop.

I foun this is a hlpful sit:

All the answers to this have been very interesting, thank you. But may I also say, in my opinion there is no such thing as a "silly question" - if there's something we don't know, there are enough people in this wonderful Forum that one or more of them can provide the answer, and every one of us has had to start out somewhere. I knew nothing at all about piggies when I first adopted mine, and have learned so very much - so ask away, yes, but never consider those questions as silly.
