Okay, I know that a pig who 'sings' or 'chirups' seems to be the great unanswered question when it come to guinea pigs, but ours have done it twice in the last two days!

The first time way at about 3:30am on Friday. It was so loud it was as if she was in the room with us, when actually, she was tucked up in her hutch outside! It went on for a few minutes then stopped.

The second time was this morning at about 10:30. It started, as the night before, really loudly and went on for about 3 minutes. But then the pitch changed ever so slightly so I'm wondering if one of the other girls took over.

Unfortunatley both times, I couldn't see who it was grrrr (they were still covered over this morning - I was making the most of my lie-in whilst Simon was at work, after my charity walk last night :( )

I'm guessing that it was Willow who started it off, as we've actually seen her 'sing' twice before. The first time Pippa just froze and looked at her (we didn't have Pixel then) whilst Willow sang her heart out. She came round and carried on as if nothing had happened and scoffed some food. Pippa just watched her for a few more seconds and then carried on with what she was doing too.

And, this will be about the fifth or sixth time we've heard it. It's usually at duck/dawn apart from today...

I just wish I knew what it meant. What she's saying... I really hope it's a contented sound, but I guess we'll never know!

Personally I think it's related to hiccups. Bandit did it once, and the way he twitched with each chirp suggested some kind of reflex rather than any kind fo communication.

It is a lovely noise, but strange too!

Never thought of it being related to hiccups - The one time we saw Willow clearly, she was quite still.

Bella's Mummy, you're very lucky - I believe it's quite rare to hear!
