Hey, sadly one of my guinea pigs asked yesterday, he was only 1 and 1/2 and died of an illness they couldn’t have been helped. Me and my family are all shocked and so sad. However we still have his brother who we love to pieces but he is now a single guinea pig. Has anybody got advice on how to keep him happy and not lonely as a single guinea pig? 💞

So sorry for your loss. Please take the time to grieve, and also give your lone pig some time.

You can interact with your boy regularly, but I’m afraid no human interaction can replace or match time spent with another of his kind.

Someone with more ideas will be along soon.

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. It's good to see you thinking of his cagemate left behind. Some pigs can go into acute grief where they stop eating and drinking (I'm lucky enough to never have experienced this) which becomes a much more urgent issue but this guide has lots of useful information for you Looking After A Bereaved Guinea Pig

There's also a guide for human bereavement if it will be useful Human Bereavement - Grieving, coping tips and support links for guinea pig owners and their children

So sorry for your loss.
It’s lovely to know you are thinking of your bereaved pig while your own grief is so raw.

There are a few options.
Probably the best is boar dating through a Rescue- if that is possible for you.
Another option is to get him neutered then after 6 weeks he can live with sows.

Be gentle with yourself as you grieve
