hi everyone, i have an approximately 3 year old guinea pig who doesn’t have a companion anymore because hers died my parents also recently divorced so i can’t spend as much time as i would like with her, especially since she would need A LOT of attention because she lives alone. I'm seriously considering giving her away/to a pet shelter because i feel as though i just can’t give her what she needs anymore. it makes me very sad because i love her a lot but i just want to make sure this is what would be best for her.

This is certainly a difficult situation. Is it possible for you to get her a friend? Rescues often offer dating/trialing of a piggy to see if they are compatible. Unfortunately, any amount of time you spend with her cannot replace that of another guinea pig.
If not, it may be kindest to surrender her to a rescue so they can find her a friend and a new home.

It’s so wonderful that you are putting her needs first. If you are not able to get another piggy to bond with her, then surrendering her for rebonding and rehoming, as hard as it is to make that decision, is a wonderful act of love and would give her the chance to have the piggy companionship She needs
