Well, one of my piggies, (her name is Bindi) will always go up next to my shoulder when I hold her, I nuzzle her allot, but why does she do this every single time I hold her?
I think you will find its natural behaviour. All my piggies do the same, I believe it's an instinct, they want to look out for other animals praying on them.
The shoulder is the highest point and so the safest to watch for approaching danger, it's just like why we built forts and castles on hill tops, good visibility and easily defensible.
I also think they just feel comfy there, snuggled in close and where they can feel your heartbeat and breathing. It's natural for them to snuggle in a group and we aere part of that group.
All of my boys thing they are parrots, sitting on shoulders or along the back of the sofa when they think we aren't looking
My Tia is a shoulder sitter, and a sofa surfer. She also likes sitting behind your neck which is the most difficult place to get her back. Ruby likes sitting on your chest and licking noses, chins and lips. Edward is another parrot pig, and is getting more adventurous to try and explore the back of the sofa!
